The Atlantic Mentorship Network- Newfoundland (AMN-NL) aims to build primary health care professionals' knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver high-quality compassionate care in community to individuals with chronic pain, substance use disorder and/or mental health conditions through adaptive mentorship.
Large Group Mentoring
Mentors and Mentees gain opinions, share knowledge and experience of peers in focused learning opportunities such as monthly virtual webinars, workshops & online forums.
Mentors
Mentors provide one-on-one clinical, as well as core knowledge and skill development support to Mentees based on identified learning needs.
Continuing Professional Development Offerings
Mentors, Mentees and non-network health care professionals connect through multi-modal learning opportunities such as conferences, webinars and courses.
Small Group Mentoring
Regional groups connect in-person or virtually to increase core knowledge and skill. Knowledge translation is through case presentations &/or topic specific presentations.
Impact of the AMN-P&A on Providers and their Practices
An evaluation of the Atlantic Mentorship Network-Pain & Addiction (AMN-P&A) in 2020 showed:
